Except for the abortion issue, although Obama has some good thoughts on it, and the 95/10 Democratic Initiative (95% reduction of abortions in 10 years) is promising- I thought he was hands down the best candidate here. And that's really not a put down of McCain.

Of course our confidence can never be in any of us as humans. Jesus is Lord, and our confidence must be in God through Jesus.

But an exciting night here, a great night to see an African-American become president elect of the United States.

He will have my prayers (I hope), and special interest, but our hope can only be in God through Jesus, never in a nation or leader, good as they may be.

I wonder what you folks over at UK think about all this.Ted M. But that's really good stuff. Actually archaeology confirms the narrative of Scripture, and Scripture is historical in nature.

Science is vilified only by creationists, but many Christians while believing God is the Creator, do not accept creationism. Many Christians who believe in Jesus, the gospel, and who hold to the Bible as the word of God accept an old earth, and even along with that, evolution. Here is a post by a Christian Jesus and New Testament scholar, Scot McKnight, on a blog with some posts around it, grappling on the subject. Francis Collins is a prime example of a scientist who has become a Christian and holds to evolution.

Do I hold to evolution? Not sure on that. But I am sure on this, good Christians disagree on this subject, each side holding to Scripture as the word of God and truth found ultimately in Jesus.

Hope you had a great time in Japan.
