More birdies.

Just had a wander down the village for a coffee, and on the way I saw a seagull (black headed variety without it's black head) and a pied wagtail hanging around in Clumber Road and wagging it's tail. When FT was a little girl, and my Mum was taking her to playschool, they saw a pied wagtail on the path in front of them and FT cried out "Look Nanny, a baby magpie".

Estelle, what the heck are you doing here??? That´s not fair, you runcible creature! I reckon I´ve taken enough photos of you for a bit!
Donc, attends-tu jusqu´à que je rentrerai au Pays de Mintcake!! ;-)

Lornezo: Excellent day today - Hoopoe, and a lifer, Balearic Shearwater!

Tortoiseshell: Got my first "paddle tick" of the year (Mediterranean) today. Last year will take some catching up though(Baltic, Black, Norwegian, Japan, Tasman, Pacific Seas/Oceans).

ME? Runcible? I can´t hold a candle to your runcibilty!
You can´t hide from me, Your Majesty´s profile is too high (or should I say Majestic?). Googling "Maalie" takes you to all sorts of lovely places...

Well you two certainly seem to know each other. A hint perhaps ...

Lorenzo the Llama, you could say that! By the way I agree with you about the cricket - see my comment on His Majesty´s blog :-)
So you have an apple tree? But no serpent I hope! I love your name :-) I will try to get my own signature picture soon.

Estelle, glad you liked the apples. Still have loads here to pass on to the old King when next he visits. The apple tree has a lot of family history. No serpents alas, just a few crumby birds and the odd squirrel.

Lorenzo the Llama, do you mean the apple tree was planted by your ancestors? How lovely and quaint :-)

Does that mean your apple tree was planted by your ancestors? Oooh, how lovely! Maybe an apple core thrown out during some family banquet maybe?

P.S. I hope my signature picture comes out :-)

If sloth and torpor are characteristics of Buddhists, I'm surprised there are not more of them...

Estelle: Mmmm, it certainly does come out...

lorenzothellama said...

Maalie: What d'ya mean 'it certainly does come out'? Buddhists are NOT slothful and indolent. They pray very hard and do a lot of good things, like pray and chant.

Estelle: Not sure how the apple tree got planted. It was here when we came, but Fair Trader and I hold a secret about it that makes it very special. When the Musician found about our secret, he wanted to chop it down.
Have been questioning His Majesty about you, but he is being very cagey. I'll ask some leading questions over the next few days. First Question: Have you ever tasted his apples?

lorenzothellama said...

p.s. Is that you in your signature photo?

Maalie said...

Lorenzo the Llama, well I checked your Buddhist link and the first thing I saw was a reference to sloth and topor...
Estelle des Chevaliers asked if her signature picture came out, and I simply asserted that it does!
No I didn't take the shearwater piccie, I downloaded it. Thanks for pointing it out, I'll add the reference to cover the copyright.
Going catching "baby magpies" this afternoon.

Good, hope you catch a lot. I'm off to Lyme Park with Badger for a run. If she is lucky she can have a swim in Darcy's Pool. On Monday when I took her out, I threw a stick in the (now raging) stream near West Gate as she was very muddy, and I wanted to wash her before she got back into the car, and unfortunately, I sort of followed the stick in and landed in the stream with her. I'll be a bit more careful with Darcy's Pool as it's deeper.

Lorenzo the Llama, thanks for looking at my blog. Yes, it is me in the picture (in my dreams :0-)
I'm not sure where the blog's heading exactly, but going through the French rugby team one by one should keep me busy!
Hey, do you mean the Darcy's pool? How runcible!
As for apples, well doesn't forbidden fruit always taste sweetest? Your apple tree sounds intriguing...

Estelle, I don't really know where my blog is heading either. Tortoishell helped me set it up, but I do hope I start doing something a bit more interesting than so far. I'm going to write about Darcy on my main page, so keep alert. I think perhaps we've said enough about apples. Anyway, they are not as nice as mangoes.
I note you say 'education' on your blog site. Now for my second question: Are you a teacher, or maybe a pupil? Just because the old Majesty reckons he is royal, that is still no excuse for him excersing his seigneurage with fifteen year olds. I very much suspect I will be accused of being runcible now. L.
