To be going on with ...

Got back from Japan on Monday evening. I still feel very disorientated and find I am sleeping at peculiar times, half on Japanese time and half on English time. Until I get round to sorting my photos out, I thought I would share this little video. This news item was widely publicised in Japan although no-one seems to have picked up on it in England.

The man in the video is British. He decided to do a streak by the Imperial Palace in Tokyo and when chased by police, he jumped in the moat. The waters in the moat are deemed to be sacred. It took two hours for the police to catch him. I walked along by the moat a week later hoping for a replay, only to be disappointed!

Gosh. It makes you proud to be British.

ROTFL! Was he drunk?

No I don't think so. I just think he wanted to play! It was very hot there and maybe he wanted to cool off.

Apparently the water in the moat isn't very clean although I saw HUGE fish in it and a lot of ducks.

Hi Lorenzo,

Saw your comment on Susan's post on Solomon. But that's really good stuff. Actually archaeology confirms the narrative of Scripture, and Scripture is historical in nature.

Science is vilified only by creationists, but many Christians while believing God is the Creator, do not accept creationism. Many Christians who believe in Jesus, the gospel, and who hold to the Bible as the word of God accept an old earth, and even along with that, evolution. Here is a post by a Christian Jesus and New Testament scholar, Scot McKnight, on a blog with some posts around it, grappling on the subject. Francis Collins is a prime example of a scientist who has become a Christian and holds to evolution.

Do I hold to evolution? Not sure on that. But I am sure on this, good Christians disagree on this subject, each side holding to Scripture as the word of God and truth found ultimately in Jesus.

Hope you had a great time in Japan. Wow. What an experience that would be. You're blessed to so be able to travel.

I'm here in Florida for a while but the warm weather seenms to have deserted us for a few days. Maybe hot and sunny beach weather again by the weekend.
Meanwhile I'm trying to avoid the piggyback wi-fi police....!

Big, historic night here in the United States. Except for the abortion issue, although Obama has some good thoughts on it, and the 95/10 Democratic Initiative (95% reduction of abortions in 10 years) is promising- I thought he was hands down the best candidate here. And that's really not a put down of McCain.

Of course our confidence can never be in any of us as humans. Jesus is Lord, and our confidence must be in God through Jesus.

But an exciting night here, a great night to see an African-American become president elect of the United States.

He will have my prayers (I hope), and special interest, but our hope can only be in God through Jesus, never in a nation or leader, good as they may be.

I wonder what you folks over at UK think about all this.
